**Student Council will have their 1st meeting today in room E206 during academic lab. If you filled out the application, please attend. Teachers, the list of students who applied is in the meetings folder on google drive.
**Are you interested in acting or working in the fall production PUFFS? PUFFS is a Harry Potter spin-off comedy suited for all ages! Auditions will be tonight starting at 6pm. You can sign-up for backstage crew during this time.
**Are you a junior or senior girl wanting to work on community service projects or fundraise for charities? Please apply for the Big Sisters organization here at the high school! See Mrs. Miller in room E224 or Mrs. Parmentier in room M205 to pick up the application. All applications are due by Friday, September 8th. New members will be inducted on Wednesday, September 27th.
**Students: The weekend food survey was sent out on Monday. Please make sure to complete it this morning.
**Lifetouch will be here on September 5 to take photos of all students, faculty, and staff. Seniors, even if you plan to use a senior photo from an outside photographer for the yearbook, you need to get your photo taken by Lifetouch on Picture Day so that you will appear in the Class of 2024 composite photo.
**The East Alton Soapbox Derby is Saturday, September 9th. If you would like to volunteer please sign up in the Attendance Center. Volunteers need to arrive at 9:00 am and the event will be over around 2 pm. All volunteers need to meet at the check station by Tropical Sno in East Alton (by the old EA Shop n Save). If you volunteer please wear an Oiler shirt or another appropriate t-shirt plus be sure to sign in and sign out. Again the sign up is in the Attendance Center.
**There will be a Harvest queen candidate meeting after school next Tuesday in the CCC. If you cannot make the meeting, please contact Mrs. Robinson.
**After school tutoring will be every day after school from 2:30-3:00 in the Resource Room located in the East Building. If there are questions please stop by the Attendance Center.
**Tonight’s theme for Soccer and Volleyball is gold rush--wear gold
**Tomorrow night’s theme for Football is red/white/blue--sunglasses will be the giveaway for the student section.
**There will be a tailgate tomorrow from 6:15-6:40 before the varsity football game. This week we will have pizza, chips, soda/water. This is free for all EAWR students and EAWR staff. Please also sit in the student section at the game and line up for the field outside the tunnel for pregame.
**This is a reminder to students that the cafe is NOT open during passing periods, even with a pass. Before school, it will close at 7:55 when the bell rings. We have a large number of students attempting to come during these times. The Cafe’ workers are also transitioning to their classes during passing periods. Thank you so much for your help with this going forward.
**There is no school on Monday in observance of Labor Day.

Starting tomorrow, Monday, EAWR will be on our regular 2:30 dismissal schedule.
Oiler soccer down 3-0 at halftime against Maryville Christian.
Oilers volleyball lost in 2 sets to Father McGivney and end in 6th place at the Roxana Tournament.
Varsity volleyball won in 2 over Auburn. They play again at 2 pm in the Roxana junior high gym today.
Oilers win first set 25-23 over Auburn in the Roxana Tournament.
Looking forward to seeing the Maroon & Gold on the field and in the stands tomorrow morning for week one of the football season!

**Students can purchase a fall athletic pass from the Attendance Center for $5. This pass will allow an EAWR student into all fall home games for $5 (football/volleyball) except for IHSA contests. All fall athletes and band members get into fall events for free.
**Anyone wishing to join Student Council needs to fill out the application that was emailed to you and submit by the end of the day today. Please make sure you fill out the application even if you were in student council last year.
**The First Baptist Church of Wood River is looking for volunteers to help make blankets for the Community Hope Center. Please check your email from Mrs. Robinson for contact information.

Passes are $30 for adults and $20 for non-EAWR children under 18. The year-long passes can be purchased at the first home volleyball game, the first home football game or from the Attendance Center. EAWR students can purchase a $5 home athletic pass for fall in the Attendance Center.
**If you are a fall athlete or in the band and want to get into games for free, you need to have a picture of your ID on your phone and present it at the gate.
