**Reminder that Big Sisters applications are due today.
**The sophomore class ring assembly is next Tuesday, September 12th during academic lab. All sophomores will receive a class ring packet at the assembly. If a student is absent please stop by the Guidance Office for a packet.
**If you volunteered to work the Soapbox Derby tomorrow please arrive at 9:00 am at the check station by Tropical Sno in East Alton. Please wear an Oiler shirt or another appropriate t-shirt, and be sure to sign in and sign out.
**The Wood River Public Library is having a bracelet making party at the library on Monday, September 25 from 6:00-7:00 pm because we are in our Swiftie Era! Students ages 8-18 are invited to the library to make T.Swift bracelets to keep or swap with friends! This is a free event. If you have questions or to register to attend, please call the Wood River Public Library.
**Juniors and Seniors: The Madison County Clerk is starting a student-led program where students are taught about the importance of voting and educate others about the importance of voting. The Student Ambassadors program trains high school juniors and seniors to register classmates to vote and also serve as election judges on election day. Any junior or senior that is at least 17 years old with a 3.0 GPA or higher may pick up a brochure with more information from the Attendance Center.
**The Multiple Sclerosis Society is looking for volunteers to be on the Jump Team for the Ride to End Multiple Sclerosis this Sunday at Lewis and Clark Community College. They are looking for 10-15 volunteers to assist from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and 10-15 volunteers to help from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. For more information, please check your email from Mrs. Robinson.
**JFL is needing volunteers this Sunday to help with concessions and chain gangs. On Sunday they need volunteers to help with concessions from 11:30-3:30 pm and chain gang 11:45-3:30 pm. If you would like to volunteer please sign in at the Attendance Center.
**Guest forms for the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, September 30th, are available in the Attendance Center. If a student plans to bring a guest the form must be turned in by September 22nd. Rules about which guests can and can’t attend the dance are listed on the form. More information regarding Coronation and the dance will be available in the coming weeks.

Volleyball update: Roxana will be hosting the freshman and JV games in two different gyms at 5:00. This means the varsity game will begin at 6:00 pm at Roxana High School.

**If you have been contacted by a D1/D2 university coach or would like to play at a D1/D2 university, please attend an informational meeting in the CCC today during Academic Lab. If you are unable to attend, stop by the Guidance Office for handouts.
**A Blackburn representative will be here today, during lunch, outside of the student center for those interested in hearing about their programs.

Because of an Alton High soccer game later in the day on Saturday that they need to flip the facility for, our kickoff vs. Marquette will now be at noon. This is for this Saturday, September 9th.

**Lifetouch is here today to take photos of all students, faculty, and staff. Seniors, even if you plan to use a senior photo from an outside photographer for the yearbook, you need to get your photo taken by Lifetouch on Picture Day so that you will appear in the Class of 2024 composite photo.

Here are the pairings for our annual EAWR Volleyball Invitational Tournament this Saturday. All games will be played in Memorial Gym. Admission is $5 and good for all day. No passes accepted.

**Tonight’s theme for Football is red/white/blue--sunglasses will be the giveaway for the student section.
**There will be a tailgate tonight from 6:15-6:40 before the varsity football game. We will have pizza, chips, soda/water. This is free for all EAWR students and EAWR staff. Please also sit in the student section at the game and line up for the field outside the tunnel for pregame.
**This is a reminder to students that the cafe is NOT open during passing periods, even with a pass. Before school, it will close at 7:55 when the bell rings. We have a large number of students attempting to come during these times. The Cafe’ workers are also transitioning to their classes during passing periods. Thank you so much for your help with this going forward.
**There is no school on Monday in observance of Labor Day.
