**Seniors: Tomorrow, EAWR is hosting a 12 team basketball shootout. Seniors can earn up to 12 hours for volunteering from 9:30 am-9:30 pm. Volunteers will be helping with different tasks such as concessions, helping after prom with their fundraiser, hospitality room, etc. If you can't volunteer the whole time, please note that next to your name when you sign up in the google doc shared by Mrs. Robinson.
**The Wood River Public Library is offering the following events for teens: Monday, February 5 at 6:00pm: Teen Lego Challenge and Monday, February 26 at 6:00pm: Squishmallow Paint Party. These are free and all materials are provided! If anyone has questions, they can email kristen@woodriverlibrary.org
**The Wood River Library is surveying EAWR students to gather information regarding services they can offer. Please take a minute and complete the survey that was sent to your email by Mrs. Robinson. All responses need to be received today. Two students that complete the survey will win an Amazon gift card.
**If you are interested in learning more about cybersecurity, we will not only be offering a class next year, but there is also an opportunity to go to a workshop at SIUE on March 22. Please see Mrs. Struif in the Guidance Office for more details and to sign up.

**There will be a Saturday Scholars meeting today in Mr. Daniels' room E208 during Academic Lab. This is to talk about our first upcoming trip tomorrow to Edwardsville High School. Bus leaves at 1:00 pm and gets back roughly 3:30 pm. All students must ride the bus as per school policy.

Originally this needed to be completed by March 1st, however, due to the FAFSA form being released late and our guidance department being notified that information to them will not be available until a later date we are extending the deadline to April 1st. So if a senior completes the FAFSA or the online opt out for FAFSA by April 1st and has 7 or fewer absences that senior is exempt from finals.
**Students, Coach Colona says it is not too late to join the track & field team. They practice everyday right after school and meet in the east building courtyard. If you are in a winter sport, you may join when your season ends. If you are not currently in a sport, go to EAWR.net and click Athletic Registration to get signed up.
**JUNIORS: Want to leave early next year? Administration has just approved for seniors who take Early Bird Band or Early Bird PE to leave after 5th hour if you meet certain requirements. Please contact your guidance counselor if you are interested.
**ATTENTION GAMERS! The Spring Season is quickly approaching! If you are interested in Call of Duty, Apex Legends, or Rocket League, there will be a meeting in the CCC during Academic Lab on Wednesday, February 14th.
**The theme for this Saturday’s basketball shootout is maroon and gold. There will be some giveaways that are maroon gold at the game. The girls game against Roxana is at 12:45 and the boys game against Roxana is at 4:15. Remember, the cost for admission is $10 for the entire day and we will not accept any student passes; everyone must pay.
We have no games tonight. Here is our schedule for tomorrow. At the shootout, admission is $10 for all day, passes are not accepted, and seats purchased for the boys season are not honored for this event.
Something exciting coming out of SIUE!!!
For qualifying Illinois students, SIUE will help close the gap in tuition, mandatory fees and course-specific fees after utilizing financial aid from all federal, state and institutional sources, including merit-based scholarships.
Incoming freshmen or transfer students with family income less than $113,575 and assets less than $50,000 based on submitted Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Must be an Illinois resident who attended an Illinois high school.
Must be enrolled full time in a bachelor’s program. Award is valid for eight semesters.

**Big Sisters is excited to announce this year’s revised list of King of Hearts candidates. Due to a tie, we have 6 candidates this year! They are Tim Melton, Paul Nichols, Brad Quereaux, Kiyu Stilts, Jakob Stockman, and Aidan Wallendorff. The King will be crowned at the King’s Dance on Saturday February 26th. Voting will begin soon in the East Building courtyard. Place donations into your favorite candidate’s box. Whichever candidate collects the most money wins King of Hearts! This year Big Sisters will be donating all money raised to a local charity.

There you will find information regarding a meeting to be held this Wednesday in E121 during academic lab, where we will discuss how to fill out an application to join NHS. If you are interested in joining, please accept the google classroom invite. For questions, see Ms. Mueller in E122. Current members who were inducted last year do not need to reapply or attend the meeting.

Game four of the Mike Fahnestock State Farm Shootout features a Cahokia Conference Matchup between the Shells and Oilers. Always a good game between the neighboring schools!

Game 3 of the Mike Fahnestock State Farm Shootout features Lincoln vs. Alton. Lincoln's Kloe Froebe is a top offensive player in all of Illinois and Alton's Kiyoko Proctor has some of the best guard skills you'll see anywhere. This is a must see game for any basketball fan!
The second game of the Mike Fahnestock State Farm Shootout features a Cahokia Conference showdown between neighborhood rivals. 2.7 miles are all that separate both schools!
