Friday is also Oiler Nation Celebration before the 1st home football game from 5:30-6:30 pm outside of the Memorial Gym. All students, staff, and community members are invited to attend. There will be free hotdogs, water, and ice cream. We invite all EAWR students to join us on the field for pregame at 6:40 pm. Please remember that if you are in attendance, you are here to cheer for the Oilers. Students are expected to sit in the student section. Students may not congregate behind the stadium, in bathrooms, etc. Additionally, students who leave through the gate at the bus circle may not return. Once you leave the stadium, you must leave campus.**Seniors in Spirit Club: We are going to meet in the courtyard after school on Wednesday for 10-15 minutes to do a quick run through for the pep assembly on Friday.
**Students can purchase a fall athletic pass from the Attendance Center for $5. This pass will allow an EAWR student into all fall home games for $5 (football/volleyball) except for IHSA contests. All fall athletes, ESPORTS & band members get into fall events for free, just give them your name.
**The East Alton Soapbox Derby is this Saturday, September 6th. If you would like to volunteer please sign up in the Attendance Center. Volunteers need to arrive at 9:00 am and the event will be over around 2 pm. All volunteers need to meet at the check station by Tropical Sno in East Alton (by the old EA Shop n Save). If you volunteer, please wear an Oiler shirt or another appropriate t-shirt and be sure to sign in and sign out. Again the sign up is in the Attendance Center.

**The theme for tonight night's volleyball game is Hawaiian. All freshmen are invited to stop by the Attendance Center in the East Building today to pick up a lei for the theme. Freshmen who wear the lei can get into the game for free. Freshmen starts at 5 pm, JV 6 pm, and varsity around 7:15 pm.
**Drama Club will hold its first meeting of the year this Thursday, Aug. 28th, at 6pm in the Auditorium. This meeting is for members and anyone interested in participating in Drama Club this year. We will be discussing upcoming events and handing out audition information for the Fall show: War of the Worlds.

Volleyball has their home opener tonight in Memorial Gym vs. Civic Memorial! There are three levels of games tonight starting with the freshman team at 5:00. JV plays around 6:00 and Varsity around 7:00.
Oilers Boys Soccer will play Carlyle at 7:00 tonight in the John Martin Kickoff Tournament over at Wood River Soccer Park.

**MAP Math Testing will be today during 2nd Hour and Academic Lab will be tied to second hour for all 9th, 10th & 11th graders. All seniors will report to the Auditorium during this time for a presentation from Guidance & Mrs. Robinson. Everyone please report to 2nd hour for attendance first. The schedule for today has been shared in the Schedules Google Drive folder by Mrs. Robinson.
**There will be a meeting at 2:30 today in the College and Career Center for seniors interested in running for Harvest Queen. Candidates must be a senior and have a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher to be eligible to run. The meeting is mandatory, however, if you are in work-study or have another conflict please, contact Mrs. Robinson prior to the meeting.
