Wood River, IL – East Alton-Wood River High School (EAWR) is excited to update the community on the progress made during the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year as part of the district’s Strategic Plan. With a strong focus on academic excellence, student engagement, financial stability, and facility improvements, the district has taken meaningful steps to enhance the educational experience for all students.

EAWR FY25 Strategic Priorities and Goals

Progress on Strategic Goals

Academic Growth

EAWR successfully implemented MAP Growth assessments to track student progress and guide instructional strategies. The district is also developing a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to assist students in need.

Student Engagement

Increased participation in extracurricular activities has fostered a stronger sense of school spirit and community involvement.

School Climate

The administration conducted a new culture and climate survey, gathering valuable insights to improve the student experience.

Community Partnerships

EAWR is actively working on branding and community partnerships and remains committed to achieving these goals. The district is in the process of expanding outreach efforts to strengthen ties with local businesses and organizations to create mentorship and sponsorship opportunities for students.

The district continues to operate within a balanced budget and has updated its five-year facilities improvement plan, ensuring modern, safe learning environments for students.
